As I understand it, cats are carnivores, and humans are omnivores. Cats eat meat almost exclusively; they still need vegetables, but in the wild they get them from the nutrients in the animals they eat. Humans, on the other hand, need a more balanced diet. Both cats and humans are creatures of God, but they were created differently, with different needs.
Although men and women are far more similar than are humans and cats, they are still two distinct types of being--they may need the same nutrition, but they are not the same in spirituality. When God created man, the Scriptures say "He created them male and female" (for any who really do not know that the word "man" is both specific to males and a general term referring to both males and females as a collective group). Both men and women together make up and are themselves the two parts of mankind. If they were exactly the same, then there would be no reason for God to create "male and female".
What is good for a man, is not necessarily good for a woman. If God commands men to be the heads of their families (and He does--1 Corinthians 11:3), then that means He has created man to fulfill that role. Physical differences are clear, but there are also spiritual differences between men and women. Men are created so that leading, protecting, and making decisions is best for their spiritual development. This does not mean that women are incapable of doing these things, but that this is what is best for men (and not best for women).
If God commands women to be domestic and submit to their husbands (and He does--Titus 2:4-5), then that means He has created the woman to fulfill that role. Women are created so that submitting, nurturing, and managing are best for their spiritual development. This does not mean that men are incapable of doing these things, but that this what is best for women (and not best for men).
In both these situations, as stated before, if a man lives in such a fashion that he is behaving more like a woman than a man, then it is not best for his spiritual development (the same goes for women living like men), and that will always lead to spiritual confusion. It is one of the reasons that people fall into the grave sin of sodomy: living contrary to the created order, leads to seeking things that are contrary to the created order (cf. Romans 1:18-32).
Thus, it is not really that complicated. Men are men, and women are women. We can thank God that it is so, and live in accord with it.
